Ellanse

What is Ellansé®?

Ellansé® is a non-hyaluronic acid filler. It is injected into the skin to lift, sculpt and restore lost volume associated with skin aging. Its principal component is Poly-Caprolactone (PCL) microspheres – a bio-resorbable soft medical polymer. The PCL is suspended in a gel carrier made of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC).

How does Ellansé® work?

Ellansé® works by stimulating the collagen causing it to restore the skin to a more youthful state. Unlike other fillers which work by directly filling in the wrinkles, Ellansé® works differently by stimulating your own natural collagen to fix problems with wrinkles and folds. So unlike other fillers, Ellansé® treats the problems directly at the root and therefore the effects are extremely natural-looking.

What is the indication for Ellansé®?

Erase Wrinkles & Folds

The filler stays where it is injected (it cannot migrate) making it a good option for forehead lines and wrinkles.

Decrease Sagging

Boost your own collagen supply, the visible effects lasts for much longer than with HA-based dermal fillers. Ellanse, creates a lift that can last for up to 2 years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ellansé® FDA approved?

Ellansé® contains compounds with well-established and documented safety and performance characteristics. Both CMC and PCL have been respectively classified by the FDA as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) substances and approved by the FDA as safe to use in medical devices in humans.

Is the procedure safe?

Ellansé® fillers are injected carefully and precisely into the skin. Many Ellansé® patients report not feeling much pain at all! As the gel-carrier gets absorbed into the body, it is replaced by the newly-formed collagen to form a structure that retains the PCL (polycaprolactone) microspheres. The collagen that is stimulated from the treatment will stay over a period of a few years and produce natural, sustained effects.

Side effect of Ellansé®

As with other injections, itching and tenderness may occur around the injection site and there may be localised redness with mild swelling and bruising.

How is Ellansé® performed?

Ellansé® is injected through a very fine needle. Any discomfort can be managed through use of ice, local anaesthetic or painkillers. The procedure typically takes around half an hour, although this does vary depending on the area and extent of treatment.

How many treatment sessions are needed?

Only one session is needed to obtain immediate results and long-lasting correction, can last at least 1 to 4 years depending on which Ellansé® option your physician recommends to you.
